Hawk's Landing Part 2
3/11/2008
Orlando, Florida
We leave for Vegas today. I'm sad. I've had a great time on the Florida "Swing" and I could stay another week easily. Once again, Ive managed to avoid the "Magic Kingdom," Epcot, Universal Studios, Sea World, etc. etc. and I've played some great golf courses. I played the Flado Exectutive course at Grande Vista, The Disney LBV Course, the New Course at Grande Cypress and Hawk's Landing twice...heaven!
Today I squeezed in another round at Hawk's Landing before my flight home. I hooked up with three great guys. They are ALL Golf Nuts now, BTW. Jamey Scott (great stick 0.6 handicap) John Walters (most fun guy in the group and capable of birdies or "Fore Right, Left, etc." but great fun to play with) and Bill Habermeyer, a guy who had to retire TWICE to get it right! Just kidding Bill, it was a pleasure to play with you today.
We didn't bring Hawk's Landing to its knees but everyone had their moments and the scores weren't bad.
After the round, I saw Mike Hodgins, Director of Golf and asked him why the greens had gotten so deteriorated in such a short time (I played the course six weeks ago and they were perfect.) He promised to email me an answer. No matter, I know that everyone there cares a great deal for the course and whatever the problem is it will be solved quickly. Mike is that kind of guy.
Anyway, we're in Delta's Crown Room waiting for our flight. I'm going to sleep a long time tomorrow so don't call me G-Man!
Adios,
