HAPPY NEW YEAR GOLF NUTS!

So begins a New Year! With the arrival of 2009 comes the promise and hope of better times ahead for the Golf Nuts, for the Country and for the World.

There should be no “Resolutions” for Golf Nuts this year. Instead, let us set goals and make plans on how to make our golf games and our Society better and stronger. So let this first article of 2009 be our own “State of the Society” address. If it gets long winded, bear with me, I have a lot on my mind.

So bear with me as I give you my own, very personal, take on our Golf Nut Society and my own Golf journey.

The Knockdown Shot  By #5636

It is that time of the year when the weather can play a huge part in scoring well, not to mention enjoying the game of golf. One shot that is indispensable when the winter winds kick up is a Knockdown Shot. It’s easy to learn and can be extremely helpful to lower you score in bad conditions.

Humble, it’s the only word to describe the feeling of playing with golf equipment from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, unless you include humiliating, frustrating and often embarrassing. The truth is told, although I experienced each of those previous emotions at times over three days, the number one description of the First Annual Classic Club Open was “FUN!”
