I'd Be Angry, too... Pat Perez should be an angry young man. He has a great golf game and has forever been capable of going low in tournament play. Yet, somehow, he still can't get any respect! There are people "inside the ropes" in golf who still think that the openning round 61 followed by today's 63 are a "fluke." "No Fluke. It's no fluke," Perez said after his 2nd Round 63. "I worked like hell this off season. So this is kind of what I expected when I got here." Maybe the Golf Channel should be listening more carefully to their own interviews. Immediately after Perez finished his post-round press conference, the Golf Channel, who is broadcasting all 5 rounds of the 50th Anniversary Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, put a graphic on their coverage about Perez that said; "How long can he go low?" Check it out, the guy listened to coverage all night that reminded the world that he had never broken 70 after going so low and came out today and shot 63! It's time to give Pat Perez some respect. He has the game. He's doing the work. Appreciate what he is accomplishing and acknowledge that it is some pretty outstanding golf. Maybe if he shoots 59 tomorrow somebody will take him more serious. Do it Pat! You deserve it! Oh, one word of advice, Pat. If you want to remain happily married, make sure that YOU mention your wife BEFORE someone asks you about her. Being married to Athena, who was named after the Greek Goddess of War, has far bigger hazards than a tough Par 5. the Head Nut #0001 |
