Hello Golf Nuts and best wishes from Orlando, Florida and the PGA Show!

It has been pretty busy at GNS.

As most of you already know, the Head Nut spent last week at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.

This week finds HN in Orlando. He is visiting a few other Golf Nuts.

HN is also attending the PGA Merchandise Show and playing (yes playing) some golf.

Actually, over the past two days the Head Nut played 3 rounds of golf with a variety of Golf Nuts. Tuesday, he played at the Villages with Mike Depre #4147 and Larry Purvis (# soon to be issued) on the Orange Blossom Hills Golf and Country Club. This short but interesting layout was just enough to whet the appetite for a second round in the late afternoon. The second 18 holes was played on the Palmer Legands Course. #4147 and #0001 hit this links style layout hoping to squeeze in a full round. This well bunkered tract provided a magnificent canvas for the long afternoon shadows and setting Florida sun. Arnold Palmer's artful design provided plenty of difficult shots and more than enough challenging carries over water and wetlands. Long, well protected Par 3s were balnced nicely by several risk/reward Par 5s. In these harsh economic times, the $41 price for twi-light play was a nice bonus.

Larry Purvis and Mike "Dupes" Depre #4147

On Wednesday, Mr. Depre played chauffer for the Head Nut as the two journeyed to Orlando to hook up with Golf Nuts Bill Conwell, #4026 and Randy Friedman, #5632 for a midday round at Hawk's Landing Golf Club. Although the greens on this course were pretty rough...really rough actually...it still was a completely enjoyable day. Hawk's Landing has water on 14 of its 18 holes and places a premium on acurate driving because of the narrow fairways and tight landing areas. Two of the Par 3s played well over 200 yards and the prevailing winds were gusting as much as 20 miles per hour at times.

Tomorrow is a full day working the PGA Show for some great deals on the newest golf merchandise and equipment for our members. Check back on Monday when...

THE 2008 GOLF NUT OF THE YEAR WILL BE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED!
